Pacific Digestive Health is home to eleven Gastroenterologists (GIs) serving all of Vancouver Island and Gulf Islands.
Along with three allied GIs in separate locations, we make up the South Island Division of Gastroenterology in British Columbia.

Our Areas of Expertise
Our areas of expertise include Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis), Hepatology (liver disorders), Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy (procedures to examine pancreas, bile ducts), and Motility (digestive nervous system), in addition to general digestive disease care. A common Electronic Medical Record enables better management of waitlists, data retrieval, and analysis, for improved patient care.
The South Island Division of Gastroenterology contributes to teaching at Island Health and within the Island Medical Program at UBC.
This includes medical students, residents, fellows and paramedical personnel. Clinical research is also an expanding part of our identity and many members of the group have broad experience in leading and participating in clinical trials. South Island Gastroenterologists are also leaders in Medical Quality Projects to improve care on Vancouver Island and are at the forefront of the Colon Cancer Screening Program.
